HMC40 vs TM700

On pages 129- 130, in the Recording Mode, Time Stamp and Audio Settings chapter, in the HMC book written by Barry Green, it states:

"All imagemaking the camera does starts by sampling its chips into a 1920 x 1080 matrix, and all internal processing is done at the full 1920x1080 progressive frame size. It can then downconvert to whatever recording format you've selected."

My question is regarding the TM700. If you record in the 1920 x 1080 60fps mode, and then down convert in post production to 1280 x 720 60 fps, would there be any difference between the camera doing the conversion, or the editing software doing the conversion?

I understand the the TM700 does not record in 1280 x 720 mode. Where I am going with this question is -- If you recorded with the TM700 in the 1920 x 1080 60fps mode, would you have more chroma, Luma & other information to work with in post production than if you would have recorded in the 1080 30fps, or the 720 60 fps with the HMC40.

The reason I am asking is I have now used both the TM700 and the HMC40 cameras, and it seems I achieved more consistent good shots with the TM700 in the 1920 x 1080 60fps mode, and I could do more with those shots in post production as far as correcting lighting and color than with the HMC40.

Please note, I have a lot to learn and may not have been using the HMC40 correctly.

My main question is: Does the TM700 in the 1920 x 1080 60fps mode record more information that could be useful in post production than the HMC40?

I would welcome any responses from the technical departments at Panasonic.
