Felipe, Always impressed with your "films" from Colombia particularly the color rendition. Could you tell me if you used the same HMC40 settings for this "coffee" video as you have used in the past and if not what settings did you use? Did you do any color adjustments in post via Premiere Pro or use the footage as shot from HMC40?
Best Regards, Dennis

Dennis, Glad to hear from you again, I decided to put some limits to the camera in order to get the best possible dynamic range, and color rendition, Number one DRS 2 and gain limit 12 DB , besides detail level -4, v detail level -2
detail coring +2, cine like V, matrix cine like, Speed was 1/120 to avoid to much motion blur because of the continuous zooming and panning. about 50% of the clips didn't have any color correction in Premiere.
However some in particular those with Nature and greens included, were color corrected with a fantastic plug in in Premiere is Colorista II from Red Giant.
If you want any additional information let me know, Best Regards , Felipe

Felipe, Thank you for information on the video you recorded. Always helpful to hear how more experienced users set up camera for recording and also steps taken in post--gives me a good basis as I continue my experiments to get look I want. Best Regards, Dennis

First from a cultural standpoint, I love the bright colors found in the village. This is very common inLatino Countries and the Panasonic HMC-40 does a great job of rendering the colors as vibrant and rich.

The one thing that surprises me is that in the past, the Colombia accent is different from what I'm used to and I have trouble understanding it. In this video, I didn't have any issue with a different accent and it was easy to understand. (**) This makes me wonder if like the USA, you have different accents across the country?

Much of the shooting appeared to be handheld OR you were using a very loose tripod. It wasn't bad, but the slight hint of shake is a bit distracting.

(**) I wonder on the audio, did you just use the mike on the camera or did you use a shotgun mike? Given the noise level for the village, the audio came our very well.

I know every video has a time limit, but in the end I wanted to see more.

Internet frame conversion ( Youtube,Vimeo ) seems to make look a little jumpy , it was shot at 30p and probably was converted to 24p in order to reduce size.
The original version looks much smoother, in fact I used a very nice tripod an Induro with manfrotto 701 head, I wish I used the the Manfrotto with 9 legs and 501 head I own but was
too heavy for this shot.
Sure the accent in this part of the country is from this area, As well as USA there there are different accents across the country, The people from this area are called Paisas
The audio was recorded with an Azden SGM-1X.

I downloaded the YouTube file and copied it to my Western Digital Media Player. Later on I'll play it on my TV.

I have the Azden SGM-2X and it's a great microphone, your Azden SGM-1X also produces a great sound too.

I love the video !!!!

Thank you Bob, Seems like the Vimeo version is better, but the original plays very smooth on a Blu-ray, Internet conversion has effects.
I agree with you about Azden, has very good sound, Also considering to buy the SGM-2X because of the omni option, how good is it with the short barrel ?

I've had the SGM-2x for years now and I've never tried it with the short barrel. I know that sounds funny, but the results were so good with the long barrel and I get very good results with my handheld microphone, I never found the need for the short barrel.

I really do need to test it, so allow me a few days time to set-up something and try it.
