Some test footage and some footage from a few indie projects. Looks great on my imac, I'm sure from youtube footage will be darker. No color correction (a few of the interior shots I boosted the mids by a hair) other than that, straight from sd card.

Some of these scenes will be in a trailer coming soon, which will be color corrected with use of filters and fx.

Bravo. Stellar cinematography. Kept me wanting to watch it. Also, this video was exactly what I was looking for; and example of interior footage of people with camera movement in 24p on this camera. I find a lot of outdoor clips, but never of actual movie substance with this camera. Skaters and wildlife is about it.

I have a couple questions;

The darker interior shots, where they lit with just available lighting, or did you have any rigs. I want to get one to replace my T2i as a primary for the horror film I am currently directing, and low light is a large factor.

How is the OIS on it? Does it get really shaking handheld or when moving?

Does the autofucus do good? I wonder due to the steaicam shots I will be getting. I have no way to pull focus, so auto is the best for those shots.

I have been trying to decide which camera to go with between the hmc40, hmc150, and the AF100. Af 100 is the big dady, but the crop factor for the lenses, as well as autofocus (I dont think it autofocus well due to lens adapters I think) and the price of it, it has some issues. The HMC150 seems to be everything the HMC40 is and more, but costs at least 2x what the 40 costs, so I could buy 2 of the HMC40 for one of the HMC150, so I dont see the worth unless the difference is steller.

So, great job on this and I cant wait to see the trailer for it. I am glad that you were able to show that a horror film can be shot on this lil diddy. Any info, site, facebook, or anything for the film yet?

Hi Jeff

I use my HMC80's on stedicam at weddings and the AF works like a dream!! I have never had any autofocus issues at all and the 80 uses the same 'guts' as the 40 .... The autofocus and iris control left unattended is awesome...using the AC-130 on stedicam is a disaster as the AF drifts all over the place ... plus going from light to shade means you cannot get any smooth shots as you have to stop and change ND filters. I would suspect that the 40 would be rather nice to use on Stedicam as it's a bit lighter too...you can flick it to full auto and then let it handle everything so you can concentrate on your moves.

Awesome. Thanks for the reply Chris. I have been looking into what camera has the bang for the buck and this may be the one. I won't have to save up for two years to get it either. Once I sell the JVC GZHD7, that will pay for more that half of it. On top of that, I may be able to get one from someone on here used that would work awesome, and save some money as well.

Once again, thanks :)

I like the story, in particular well done, not one highlight blown out or gone shadow, camera movements very well executed. This camera as well as the gh2 are the best bang for the buck, and in the right hands
can go anywhere . Thanks
