I can't understand how to get manual balance on this.. I tried everything and everytime I hold it down it always has a blue tint to it, even the white. Can someone help me out ? Im trying to get rid of this blue tint asap! And does the small square thing in the middle of the lcd have something to do with anything?

I had the same problem today while out testing the camera in the snow. I always got a blue tinge but I think it was because I didn't have enough light. I think you press the white balance button down and it will set the WB then when you press it again it will say WB lock. I still couldn't get rid of the blue tinge but shooting with lots of snow on the ground is probably the hardest light conditions for any camera.

If you are seeing a blue tint in manual white balance, you can correct that out by using the COLOR TEMP menu setting; negative settings will move the image oranger and counteract the blue.

You're using the wrong procedure for setting white balance. Read page 42 of your PDF manual found on the CD shipped with your camera.
