I've been experimenting with HDMI capture using FCP7 and the HMC40. Everything seems to be working well, but I have a question regarding 1080p capture.
Does anyone know what the difference would be between capturing via the HDMI output
at 1080 30P and recording to the SDHC card at 1080 30P other than the obvious fact that the SDHC capture will be using the AVCHD codec.
I understand that the capture thru the HDMI output will be 1080 30P embedded into a 60i stream, but is this any different from the AVCHD camera capture which does not capture 1080 30p natively?
