HMC150p No Audio on internal mic

I own another HMC150 that I've used for about a year and it's great. I picked up another tonight (used). it works great on everything except I cannot get audio on the internal microphone. I've obviously switched the select buttons to internal and I've made sure the audio dials are at 12:00 +. If I plug in a microphone and swtich to input 1 and 2, everything works great. I called the guy I bought it from and he says at least recently he's always used a mic but he knows internally it worked a while back. Could it be a setting elsewhere?

I also reset the camera (initialized). I'm pulling my hair out. i got a decent enough deal on this, but I would really like it to work.

Another issue I've found is that the record button on the top doesn't seem to start the record, even when the switch is set to on. I get a feeling this is all somewhere in the menus.

Thanks,
Ryan

You say you've reset the camera, so perhaps this won't work, but I was shooting with an HPX-170 a few weeks ago with the same problem, and there was a menu setting our DP finally found that enabled them again. I'd flip through all of the menu just to make sure it's not disabled still in there (I think there are a few things in there that can disable it perhaps)

I agree, which is why I'm not really freaked out yet. It's got to be a menu setting I'm just not finding. I'm hoping someone can recall where. I've been through all the menus tirelessly with no luck. I don't know that I'd really even need it, but it's annoying. I'm thinking about resell value as well.

Be sure that the front switch is set to Mic and not Line.

But, if you cannot do anything and it's still not working, maybe you should find a local Panasonic Professional distributer and ask them to check it. With your warranty still active, it should be covered (if the guy that you bought the camera transfered you the warranty).

Hey guys,

Thanks for the help. The guy that sold it to me is also a wedding film maker and a really upsanding dude. He called me today and set up a time for me to take it to a local shop. He also said he'd pay if for the repair. 20 minutes in the shop and the tech said it was all fixed. Just a loose cable on the inside. He didn't even charge me. Thanks for the help!
