I'm planning to go over from redrock m2 to the brevis35 system instead. It's much lighte and takes less space, with more gain of light..
But I have two questions that I can't get a straight answer on.. so I thaught that maybe you could help me out:
Exactly what parts do you need in order to make the brevis work with the hmc? I've asked Cinevate, and they said (because I'm going to use the non flipped brevis) I'm probably going to need a 72mm spacer tube. Anyone here that can confirm that one? Or maybe you don't need it?
Currently on my redrock I need to create quite some space between the achromat and the camera filter with some steprings and couplers so that I can get proper focus on the ground glass, so I wouldnt like to make it any longer than it is if it's not neccersary..
Also, quite some people say that the brevis is more or less "unusable" outside if you do not use a mattebox with some ND filters, becuase of it letting in so much light through the groundglass. Now, I don't have a mattebox nor do I plan to get one, so, is the brevis still a option, or should I maybe go with the redrock m2 encore upgrade kit?
Or are all the adapters the same regarding the ND filters and so on? Or is it just the brevis that has this "issue"?
I would be greatfull if anyone could sort this out for me =)
