im really stuck right now im looking to buy either an hmc150 or an fx1 wich do you guys think is the best i will be shooting action sports trying to an hd look also might buy an hvx. out of all of these wich would be the best there is a really cheap fx1 to buy but i need to know if it is worht it

HMC is the way to go... 720/60p is going to be your best friend for sports. And tapeless being a close second.

FX1 is 1440x1080 / HMC is 1920x1080 also FX1 has no XLR / HMC has 2 XLR

Dont think you need to consider a HVX unless you ABSOLUTELY need to shoot to P2 cards.

wow thanks but the hmc doesnt have tapes at all because at some time i wouldnt mind useing tapes

Yes, you will mind. Trust me, having gone from the DVX to the HMC150 and now AF100, I don't think I could ever willingly go back to tape. I have shot three times as much on my HMC as I did on my DVX, and never had the issues with cards like I did with tapes, even the higher end ones. And everything is just faster using cards. No having to wait for ingest, no hoping the ingest didn't drop frames, etc.

I've found cards to be far more reliable than tapes, but if you're worried about reliability, wait for the AC130 and the dual record ability. If archiving is an issue, buy a Blu-Ray burner and back everything up to data Blu-Ray disks. They're nearly as cheap as tapes now.

oh alright i see but what cards are taken by the hmc150?

Any Class 4 and above SDHC cards. Don't go cheap and find stuff on Ebay, the boards are full folks buying a "name brand" card off of Ebay only to find it's counterfeit and it dies in the middle of a wedding or something. I've had good results from Transcend, but switched over to the Sandisk Extremes for that little extra piece of mind.
