HMC150 v original HVX200

been awhile since I have posted. I am about 90 hrs into a doc and thinking about switching cameras. I have been filming with the original HVX200, great camera but heavy for all day handheld, P2 file size is becoming an issue and would like to lose some of the noise on the footage. I understand the primary differences, frame rates, 4:2:2, dvcpro better codec etc.

question:

How much more dynamic range or low light improvement over the old 200? The 200A is 1 stop if I remember. I keep seeing you can add more gain to the 150 with limited noise.

For the FCP people, once I transcode to prores, how does the file size compare to dvcprohd? Redundancy has been a killer so If i can keep one copy in original format before transcoding, that would be a help.

I see a few threads with file error issues with sd cards, how prevalent is this? I don't want to be troubleshooting this in the field.

anything to watch out for when switching from the hvx to the 150 when running and gunning?

thanks.

I've been an user and owner to both of them. I didn't have the time to test them much against each other before the hvx200 got sold.

What I did test was the low light capabilites between them, the HMC150 has much better low light capabilities and less noise. I find my HMC to have a more crisp image, where the HVX sometimes could look really washed out. Allthough I miss the DVCPROHD codec with it's easy editing capabilites and 4.2.2 sampling.
