HMC150 & Tascam HD P2 timecode question

Long story short: I have an HMC150 & a Tascam HD P2. How or where does the timecode signal come out of the camera?

The composite out is RGB, is it that one or is it the video out on the side that send out the code?

Moreover, what settings do I need to set on the Tascam and the HMC in order to film at 24p and have matching code on the Tascam? Do I use 23.976 or 24p? Do I use any pulldown or no?

How can I tell if the TC is being picked up on the Tascam, I have tried several different setups but it just sits there? I am waiting to see some kind of change in the timecode on the Tascam but nothing seemd to be happening. So its either I have it hooked up wrong or I have the settings wrong or both.

If it is not clear so far, my desire is to have the Tascam synced to the HMC so that I can shoot and record audio on the camera and on the Tascam (so 4 channels) and then sync them in FCP.

Never asked a forum anything before so I hope this question makes sense.

Thanks

HMC 150 does not generate a TC signal. Your HDP2 would tale one if it was available. You'll have to go caveman in post. Get a clapper.

I have successfully slaved both to a Denecke time code slate. I guess I'm lucky we have one at school that I check out. Most video rental places would have them.

It's in the timecode menu settings, you set it to free-run then you slave to the other device providing timecode, I haven't tried, but I believe you can make the HMC the master timecode also. It's in the instruction manual.
