First time post.

Just received my HMC150 and I absolutely love it. I have a shoot coming up in a couple of months and do not have the budget for an audio person. We will mainly be shooting inside of a van. Any suggestions on mic (was thinking Sennheiser ME64) and setup? Thanks.

A shotgun mic is not the best idea for small spaces, most lower end mics will pick-up a lot of off-axis sound, meaning you will hear as much sound from behind the mic as you do in front of the mic. They are great outdoors with proper wind protection, but a bad idea for the interior of a van.

Unless you are willing to go for one of the higher end shotgun mics that have good off-axis sound rejection ( Sanken CS-1 / CS-3 ), you should be looking for a "pencil" hypercardioid condenser mic ( AKG CK93 or AT 4053a ) or if your budget is tight a cardioid condenser mic like the Rode NT5. All of these mics produce a very full and natural sound, especially in small spaces.
