HMC150 Playback in DVD Player?

Hello,

I had thought that I would be able to burn a DVD with the structure from the SD card and play it in a AVCHD DVD player. Right now, I have an LG which advertises AVCHD but the contents of the card (either burned on DVD, or right into USB port on reader) is never recognized.

Does anyone have the ability to play raw content from the SD card in a DVD player without having to use the camcorder itself? Hooking up to HDMI works, but I'd like to be able to view other "tapes" burned RAW to DVD.

I think the panasonic players will do this, but wanted to confirm before I buy (another) blu-ray player.

thanks!

probably not your answer...but

I use a PS3 for immediate playback from the SD card, and or a Western Digital Live TV media player, which also will playback straight from the camera.

You could save a step and not have to burn a CD, or dump the files on an external drive...that works too.

The western digital Live TV Media player? Can it play just a directory? I typically copy directory contents to my NAS when I wipe a card?

I don't want to have to do things like rename files or anything. Just want to be able to play movies without making them into a production. :-)
