HMC150 --> FCP7 --> FCP5 help

So my trusty G5 Quad has met it's match! It has never failed me but now that I have an HMC150 I am struggling to find a good solution to working with my AVCHD files. I have a beast of a machine at work running FCP7 so my though was to Log & Transfer on the work machine into Apple Intermediate Codec and bring that home to edit on the G5. I think I'm missing something somewhere because at home even though my Quicktime and preview window in FCP5 play the clips fine they need to be rendered in the timeline. Is there a particular format I must use when filming? I have a feeling AIC won't support 24fps and I'd be better off with PH 1080/60i. Will it support 720/60p?

On a side note I just moved up from a DVX so I'm still very much getting used to this HD stuff. DV was DV... Easy. :)

Thanks so much!

Still no go.

So I filmed a sample clip in each of the HMC150s recording modes:

1080 @ 60i (in PH, HA, HG & HE), 30p, 24p
720 @ 60p (preferred), 30p, 24p

I logged the clips with FCP7 using Apple Intermediate Codec and AC-3 Matrix Stereo. I figured I had every base covered!

So I went home and tried loading up the footy on my timeline. Nothing worked. I played around with the timeline settings, the easy setup, audio video settings.... I'm getting worried at this point.

Why does apple hate me? Why can't I just load FCP7 on my damn G5?! WHHHYYYYY!!!? :(

EDIT: I may have found the problem!!! FCP5 does not auto apply sequence setting like FCP7 does. It just dawned on me to throw my footy into FCP7 and let it do it's thing. I got the following after plopping down some 720/60P

When I tried at home on my G5 I had the editing time base set to 60. Could that be my issue?

If I am reading this correctly, you thought you shot 24p, but actually shot 59.94?

And when you set up the FCP 5 sequence with 59.94, you didn't have to render?

Is that correct?

No, I shot in all of the formats I listed. After encoding all of them all with AIC I tried them all with the best settings I could for each. My example was with 720/60p. I entered 60p into the timebase instead of 59.94.
