HMC150 back order

New to the forum... I'm a proud and happy dvx100b user, finally waking up and growing a pair. In my search for an HD cam, one of the sellers at B&H scolded me for asking him about the HMC150, and subsequently put me in a headlock, dragged me to the XH-A1, and said, "You're gonna buy this. YOU'RE GONNA BUY THIS!!! I freed myself away, went home, and did some snooping around on the web, and found you guys. And you collectively sold me back on the HMC150, and I'm jumping out of my skin to get it. However, the timing couldn't be less savory. Every dealer in America now is out of stock, including B&H (I guess that salesperson had an issue with cameras that are blasting their way out of the store) and ebay. I know something like this was posted earlier, but wondering if anyone has any bulletproof leads to legit dealers?

That is QUITE the BH story! lol

Let me say that I own an hmc but have used the A1 several times from using it at school and the hmc is better in every comparison...

Cool. Thanks... will check 'em out on Monday. I'm weary of buying online from stores without online reviews. Yesterday, I was about to confirm a purchase online, when, at the very last second, the salesman "reminded" me that I was purchasing the imported model.

And, yeah, you gotta love B&H :) I think someone should start a thread about B&H stories...

Thomas Lew -- appreciate the inside scoop. I'm alarmed that a video professional could make me feel as stupid as he did about buying a camera that captures progressive and tapeless, and is preferred over the one he was suggesting by those who've used both.

Showcase Photo in Atlanta shows on-line that they have units in stock ($3.495)... I have been to their store (they also sell on line). Frank Zamor has been very helpful while I've looked over the HMC150... but still haven't placed me order yet. Still worry the physical size is too big for the consumer camcorder I have been used to shooting with.
