Been reading about all the gear lately and have learned a lot espically here in the DVX Forums. First the HMC 150 rocks! and the new 7D is really nice as well and of course the GH1 is a super little camera. If I did not own any of these today I would buy the HMC 150 which I do own. Now I do plan on buying a 7D as I need a new stills camera and the DOF will come in handy for some shots. The HMC handles better than any of thses VDSLR's the codec holds up really well for grading, espically in Cine-D. Auto Focus sure is nice sometimes! Waveform monitor has helped me tremdously! nice wide lens and decent zoom helps me fame the shot I want. Can handel action with no artifacts. Good sound options. These are a few reason I am keeping the HMC as my main camera and will buy a VDSLR for certain shots only. The more I see and read the more I come back to the fact that it is more the brain behind the lens that makes the difference! I have seen awful footage from all of these cameras and amazing footage as well. Shooting Cinema style is a craft not 24p! I just love being a gear head but it dose not help me produce better material. I am not limited by the HMC 150 I just need to work on my shooting skill and people directing. Panny dose have wonderful cine colors right out of the camera which is always nice! So go buy what you like and then shoot like there is no tommorrow.
