HMC and 35 adapter

This maybe be a silly question but it's just something that came to mind and I don't know the answer to it.

With a 35mm adapter on the HMC is the waveform monitor still effective? I know the adapters cut back at the very least a full stop, so would that effect the sensor in giving an accurate reading?
 
Waveform is what hits the sensors, so if the 35mm rig drops a stop, then the waveform monitor will drop a few IRE. If you have lots of light, this shouldn't be a problem.
