HMC 81 for wedding

Hi all,

I am new here and new in filmmaking. I and my wife have photo studio. Both make togather wedding photos. Now we want to extend and start to make wedding films. My wife will be still photograph and I want to make film. I search over internet and choose for filmmaking Panasonic HMC 81. Is this camera enough for making weddings films ??? Is anybody here who use HMC 81 ??? What are pros and cons this camera ???

I use 2 x HMC82's for weddings and they are great for me. You will battle a little at the reception with low light so for speeches I use a softbox with 4 x 50W CFL's in it to get really good video. When the lights go down and the dancing beigin you really will need an on-camera light!!! I use a Yongnuo CN-160 LED light at receptions if it's too dark as it works out very well. The HMC80 series are big cameras and they get heavy after 4 or 5 hours but I like a shoulder mount camera..in combination with an ENG spring loaded waist support rig..my shots are rock steady when handheld. If you want light weight then go for the HMC41 ... it's small and has the same electronics/lens as the 80's ..However I absolutely love the new EVF of the 80 as well...you get a HUGE screen to watch and enough space for all your data too....I had HMC72's before these are the tiny EVF is hard to use.

The 80/81/82 has brilliant external controls too...you can go full manual without having to touch the menu..a big plus for me !!! If you are not ready to move to full manual control the cams also do a darn good job even in full auto at a wedding!!!

Just remember to cost in things like decent tripods, radio mics (I use one single channel and one dual channel PLUS 2 x Rode Videomics on each camera too!!!

Cons??? Low light isn't that hot but manageable...otherwise they are brilliant...I've shot around 12 weddings already on the 82's and must have done close to 75 with the HMC72's ...and all the brides were happy!!!

Thank you very much for your answer. All is OK and in near future I will buy HMC81. Before I want to read manual for this but I try to find on net some user manual but I dont find. Is possible download manual for HMC81 somewhere ???

And second question. I have notebook. I want to try If my computer setup is enough for HMC81. Have someone the original source file from camera to download ?? I want to try to work with this file on my notebook.
