Ok just picked up the Panny 152 and to repay you guys for the help in pushing me in the right direction to buy this cam for my intended purpose i'm going to post my tests here so others can use the info.
Shot in 720p at 50fps and violently jerking the camera up and down and sideways with shutter at 1/1000 then running the footage through Prodad Mercalli Stabilizer with preset bumpy car setting, i can confirm no blur, no jello and smooth motion. The only image degradation is lens distortion (because i TILTED the camera to cause the motion not lift it up and down vertically) which is enhanced by Mercalli. I'm talking jerking the cam up and down by half the frame height ..... extreme. This is no where near the motion i get when filming under my normal conditions from the back of a JetSki, so going CCD and 21Mbps AVCHD was the correct decision. O.I.S was switched on, next test will be with it off.
