HMC 150 book.

B&H carries it, as does Amazon, and a few other dealers here and there. But mostly, yes, order it here or on Amazon or B&H or CallBox, we all ship within 24 hours.

I already have a copy of the HMC 150 book. I'm sure this question has been asked, but here goes...:)

If I already have the HMC 150 book, and I don't own any HMC 40s, I'm assuming "The HMC Book" wouldn't necessarily add a significant amount of information for me? Emphasis on the "significant" part :)

Do not order from Amazon...I did - the accompanying CD with scene files as referred to in the book was not included :-( ........ Order from Barry direct, wish I had.

No, not really. There's some troubleshooting and workflow stuff that's new, but not enough to justify re-buying.

I don't have any of the CDs at the moment, but should have some in a couple of weeks. PM me with your addr and I'll send you that missing CD.

Hi,

I'm a new member. First thing I did, I just ordered from Barry. Hope it is gonna help to improve my skills to tune up more efficiently my Panasonic HMC150.

I'm actually struggling to get a good color rendering in manual mode.

Ok, I did the white balancing...but my main issue is the exposure. For instance, the sky color is not accurate (too white). The camcorder always points I should select the filter....but the image gets darker. So I play with the aperture of the iris, try to tweak the shutter speed....but i don't get good results.

Please note, I want to shoot in 1080 - 24p .

Is there a link on this forum that explains basic tune up settings before I get Barry's book ?

I plan now to reset to the factory settings and browse this forum for some answers.

thanks for your help.

Have you tried a graduated neutral density filter?
Hi,

well, i'm a newbie trying to learn the HMC150.

what i need is like some tutorials that basically explains how to tweak the settings to get the best results in different conditions of lights combined with the selected shooting mode (1080-24p, 1080i-60,...)

The HMC150 manual does not really provide these info. That why Barry's book will come to the rescue :)

I read some topics on this forum stating to reset factory settings and balance the black will help to get better PQ. Also it is important to upgrate the firmware.

Well, a grad ND filter is a tool used in both still photography and video to bring down the difference in brightness between the sky and the ground.

The filter is partially darkened; you align it such that the dark portion covers the sky and the clear portion covers the ground. An ND6 grad works quite well.

Either use a filter, or expose for the sky and then light the foreground to bring it up to the correct exposure.

This is a common issue and not really a fault of your camera.
