MUSIC VIDEO: HIP HOP MUSIC Video....Please Critique!!!

Pretty good video. I think for the studio shots with the whole group you could make it flashier. They look kind of plain. Maybe add some strong color correcting or a tint to jazz it up. There's some focusing issues throughout where we see a person and then they're in focus and then they're not and then they're back in. Some of the house setups looked really good, with good lighting, but some looked more video than film to me. Some of the car shots in the beginning, it seemed like the guys voices didn't match the words and more depth-of-field on the interior car close-ups would make those shots pop I think. Add a really good color correcting to give the video that film look and you'll add some production value as well. Good effort overall. Oh, and definitely some beautiful women. Keep the vids coming.

I agree with those comments as well. I felt the beginning of the video, in the car and in the house, didn't match the production quality of the rest of the video. They looked videoish. I think both DoF and color correction would help a lot. Also, I felt the height of the camera was too high as well on some of those.

Given the quality of the rest of the video, if it were me, I'd tighten up that beginning to be MUCH shorter, get some more epic cinematography with those shots (really utilizing shallow DoF and lowering the camera a bit when shooting) and coloring it stylized, I think the whole thing will flow better.

Overall it's cool. The females are looking nice for sure. The song sounds like something that could make it to the radio. I feel like a few more items could be toyed with to change it up. On the two shots (or shots with two people), I felt like they were sometimes wide for no reason. There wasn't much to see behind them (brick wall a time or two). A few more varying close-ups with shorter shots mixed in might add to it. Depth of field could change the feel in some shots but I think that color correction would give the most impact.

I feel that it began with a story and I see where it went but I was confused a bit in the middle (particularly the shot in the restaurant). I understood that he had to make an extra call because his gal wasn't down for him. Cool. He found the one that was down on the second call so there was no real reason to be eyeing the waitress in front of the other chick (I'm thinking the other chick wasn't the one that bailed him out either). The flock of women walking around made sense when Young (the singer) would say "is it you, is it You?" but it didn't fit the other character (the one that started off in the car).

In the end, I believe that a video with all that candy can have so many quick shots and so much eye candy that most people won't care about the story; especially the guys. I think that with this song, it's appealing to the women so one of those characters should take advantage of that appeal and be that one woman-type dude. And show him kicking wifey to the curb to emphasize the point. So even if the singer was a player on other songs, this song would bang in the club and the women would be all over it.

On another note, I felt like the singer has been taking notes from Joe. Manneurisms are similar. Tieuel Legacy! Motion
