Highly Directional AKG 568 Shotgun Mic Phantom Powered

I am selling my AKG shotgun to get a nice wireless mic because I am doing a few weddings that will require one. This AKG mic is seriously awesome. I have typically used it on a boom pole and I get great results. I have used it against the ME66 and I believe it to be a far superior mic with deeper bass response and far better off axis rejection. It has a bass roll off feature for wind and to reduce handing noise. I bought it a few years ago for around $500 and I am willing to part with it for $280 with a shock mount included. It has some minor paint scuffs from were it was in contact with the shock mount, but otherwise it sounds as good as the day I bought it. It really is an unbelieveable mic at a price that is almost 50% of MSRP. If you are looking at a ME66 or AT897 this mic is a much better deal. There isn't much literature on the net that explains the mic in detail with comparisons, but AKG's are know for there high quality mic standards. One of the greatest things is that it is highly directional and it is short (only 10 inches) so it is very mountab;e on the dvx without looking out of place. If you have a question email me at:

I had one guy from Australia that was seriuosly intersted but right before the purchase he realized that he didn't have phantom power on his camcorder. I am willing to let go for $245 without the shock mount.

I am bringing the price down to $220 which should be considered a crime for stealing because this mic is worth so much more, and will give you spectacular sound. I will give it until April 8th then I will sell it somewere else.

Just bought mine!
However, I do like it so much that I may be persuaded to buy another...
Cheers
Chris

Hey, I'm may be interested. Currently I'm in the market for a mic but couldn't decide on the best one. Your price seems pretty tempting....but can you explain phantom power to me, I'm a newbie at this. Does that mean I need a seperate power source other than the camcorder itself or what?

Jlucan If you have a dvx100 then you already have phantom power. If you have a xl1 or gl1 you will need a beachtek xlr adapter that supplies phantom power.
