HIGHER framerates?

Hello fellow DVXuser readers,
After getting a taste of the high-frame-rate 72060p (in the 24pn mode) footage out of my new HVX.
I find myself wanting MORE! ...frames that is.
I only have one 4GB p2 card and I know this would dip into my storage severly but I want it more than anything else from this camera.
I know that Barry Green and others have "unlocked" the super low framerates. :dankk2:
My question is:
What can we do to get higher framerates out of our HVX's?
Is it AT ALL possible EVER? Even with a future firmware update/hacking ?
I know that the RED camera can do higher framerates by just scanning a portion of the 4k frame. I would be fine with shooting in DV if i could get 120/240/480 progressive fps. Please oh please, Panasonic.. Barry.. anyone... tell me this might be possible.

Not possible as far as I know. The crystal, the recording formats, everything is geared around a maximum of 60.

RED is designed differently, and can go faster.

I (by mistake) ran my first 20 shots or so on slow mo. I thought- wow my shots look great, the operating is smooth as silk. But wait.. ... Oh no...

So I liked the slow-mo, but I thought about if I really wanted a slow motion look this would not be enough.

Now I've seen the mistake of shooting HD normal motion, and slowing it post with frame doubling. It looks horrible, stuttered and blurry and not good at all. The question would be, take your 60 frame clip and drop it into After Efx. Stretch it to %200 and see how "bad" it looks. Then, tell me.

-Barry: Thanks for the prompt response- I guess its time for me to start saving for the RED camera to deal with my lust for high framerates. :just in case you havent heard this enough-You RULE!!! and I can't wait to buy your HVX book (when is it comin anyhow?)

-akuepper: ya The camera ships w/ the 72060p default record setting I believe.
- oh and if you follow the link i put in my first post you can see an example of clip that Shot in 720 24pn @60fps and then slowed down more in FCP (200% i believe). I was a little dissappointed with how the shot turned out. (almost as dissappointed as the next people that walk on that beach barefooted. LOL!)

Don't get me wrong readers I love the fact that I can shoot like this.
but for very fast subjects (bottle breaking, hummingbird, explosions etc.)
I WANT MORE!
And I will continue to say prayers that this can someday be done with this camera

do what most do and rent a high speed camera. Last year a friend of mine was shooting 15,000 frames per second on some HD box camera...

?!?!?!??????

What exactly are you saying?

Thanks

-Justyn: Whoa whoa, 15,000fps? I'm just asking for 120. How much does it cost to rent one of those? and what kind of storage do you need for something like that?
And how would you bring that into a NLE timeline?

Is there anyone else out there that wants more than 60fps out of their HVX?
