Yeah I'm planning on getting some black wrap but I was just wondering if a spray paint alternative exists.
The smoking will usually stop after a few minutes. New lights often need to be broken in by running them outdoors for a while to get all the volatile stuff in the paint to burn off. However, for an expendable like foil, where you're not going to re-use it and can't rig it outdoors to burn it in and then break it down again, the damage and annoyance can be done long before the paint stops smoking. So buy some real Cinefoil and be done with it. You can get a good sized roll for the price of three or four cans of spray paint.
I do use the barbecue paint on stuff like flags that I will be keeping for awhile, and it does its job OK after the short initial break-in period.
