FS7: High Frame Rates, does it get worse the slower it is? Odd frame rates?

I have a job coming up where we will be shooting beauty shots of models in slow motion. Time is super short, so to avoid using jibs and sliders, we probably have to shoot high frame rates.

When you jump from say... 90fps to 120fps to 180fps, does the moire aliasing and noise just get worse and worse?

Also, does HFR work better on certain frame rates that are easily divisible like 60, 120 or 180 verses some thing 76 fps or 103 fps? Off numbers? I know you can pick those odd numbers on the FS7, but will it cause strangeness in the footage?

Without formal testing Id say 72FPS and above is of equal (lack of) quality. (mainly ive shot 100 and 150 being in Pal land)

Odd frame rates - I think the same - obviously you want to pick the frame rate on voltage hertz if you have a lit shoot.

I kind of felt the same way. Glad you verified it for me Morgan.

Forgot about the frame rate and light flicker thing, thanks for the reminder.

Gene, on the 5 and 55 it's anything above 60. It doesn't get worse on the way to 180. Just that line of anything over 60.

Be careful if it's a high end client.

yes - my bad - it's that "full frame mode" I meant to refer to - not full scan - that is currently anything over 60fps
