High Contrast Low Contrast Black and White Tests

Not an actual "test" test. Just a bit of fun.

The high contrast vs low contrast grades are obvious so I decided not to put titles in declaring which was which.

Used FCP 7 with Apple Color.

Apparently you've left dozens of viewers speechless... but I must admit, I definitely like the higher contrast version by far and enjoyed your presentation.

I like the hi contrast with the truer blacks.

I started to make the test more "scientific" and became a bit bored. That's why the editing got so bonkers!

I was looking to try a lower contrast look because whenever I watch older films, a lot of them seem much more grey than black and white movies from now. It seems like higher contrast always wins out. But I agree with Shooter. With this camera setup on this Scene File, the darker blacks look better....
