Hi to everyone, I'm Igor from the Kyiv city.

Mostly shot corporate/social media adverts for a 5 years, but now thinking that I'm ready for some short fiction. There are tons of info here, hope to find answers and be helpful as well.

Nothing special — just introducing myself for the community.

Thinking to get F35 because shot on leica m6/contax G2 cameras and sony's rendition is pretty close to my taste of image. Kind of nostalgic with unhealthy perfectionism.

How good this idea in 2020's Fall? Because lots of great cameras were released and announced.
 
The last time I was in Kiev was in 1972. OK, it was the first time I was in Kiev too.
 
Where are you from and what have you lost in the USSR in distant '72? :)

I was there with my parents. We were taking a train from Minsk to Kerch for our summer vacation. Trains switched in Kiev and we needed to stay somewhere one night. Our friends/neighbors had family in town, so we stayed with them. I recall hating the water. They made us some tea but it tasted worse than the one from a swimming pool. Even with печенье.
 
I was in Ukraine and Kyiv city in 2011. I arrived at the airport with my customs carnet. Someone took it and disappeared for 3 hours. Luckily he came back :) I had to drive 200km East to a farm but the route guidance system in the rental car was Cyrillic script and I was lost at the 1st crossing (right turn /East) when all street signs were only Cyrillic too. :evil: It was very nice on the farm though

I had a one night stay over on the way back and we had a nice evening in town. I had the most expensive coffee ever on Kyiv airport. 2012 was EURO football and when we saw the fighting and shooting on TV on Maidan Nezalezhnost in 2014 it felt totally unreal for me remembering I was there just 3 yrs ago.

There's a fairly prominent syndicated talk show host who like telling a story about visiting Budapest in the late 1960's and trying to figure out a man's vs. woman's restroom. In Hungarian. Which is "Ferfiak" vs. "Nok". Hungarian is generally not spoken anywhere outside Hungary and so he thought that "nok" sounded more masculine than "ferfiak". He went inside "nok" only to discover that ... eh, he made a wrong turn.

But, at least, he didn't go inside this shop and order a burger.
