C500: Hey, that new Canon Cine-Servo 25-250mm t/2.95-3.95 looks pretty sweet

I'd like to see the 17-120 with a built-in 2x converter.

I believe the 17-120mm is a pretty old lens that's been out for a while, since 2014, maybe they'll update it? I tend to agree, for my style
and subject matter, 25mm is too narrow FOV, especially for handheld general work, 17-18mm is more important to me than
all of the way out to 250mm.

Matthew Allard over at Newshooter reports on an early user in Australia of this new lens. Looks pretty sweet for a lot of us. Run & Gun, this looks right up your alley?

If this wasn't such a complete dumpster fire of a year and there was actually (more) work to justify it, I would love to get this lens. I think there are still a lot of people out there who don't fully realize the engineering feat that Canon pulled off with it.

For s35, Canon has given us the closest equivalent to the two-lens ENG combo of a 13x W/A and 22x, with the 17-120 and 25-250.

I'd like to see the 17-120 with a built-in 2x converter.

I would love a built-in extender in the 17-120. And I would probably be lying if I said that there haven't been times where I've instinctively reached up to where the extender would be on a B4 ENG lens to engage... nothing. Because it doesn't have one. But, the 17-120 would have realistically been $5K more expensive than it originally was if it had one.

Hopefully the 25-250 follows the 17-120 and it's down to the mid to low $20K's in two years or less.

In the C500 forum? It doesnt cover FF and the C500 right?

Its an S35 lens for medium portraits through to telephoto and has no wide ability?

25-250 covers full frame when the teleconverter is engaged.

Keep a Century Optics 0.7x wide angel adapter on the 25-250mm.
Link? I found one for the DVX100, and actually recall using something like that on my XH-A1s, but I'm not seeing one for S35 on 114mm threads of the 25-250.

Wow that same newsshooter article mentions that the 17-120 covers the FX9 in 5K FF mode, which is a 1.25 crop. So, a 21.25mm equivalent on the wide end on a low-light beast halfway between S35 and FF? That would be so badass...
