Herpes PSA

Good work. I liked it. You called it on the sound, just get that and some brightness on the shots and you will be fine. I liked it and laughed at the herpes dude. :thumbsup:
 
just be careful of gear shadows (you can see the tripod near the beginning when the girl is nodding her head), otherwise good sequencing / cuts, keep it up :)
 
Nice... and funny. I agree with the comments above and would only add that it might be nice to get a tighter shot of the girl & guy's faces (as they stand in the doorway) in the end so we can better see their expressions.
 
Interesting idea. I did see it coming though.

Also, it may have worked better if the two people seemed to really be into each other. I mean maybe it was the acting, or the script, but she wasn't all to convincing.

I would almost take it a step further and have them making out passionately, handheld with extreme close-ups with a short Dof. Trim it down a bit, and then have them pop into a room with a guy wearing the 'herpes' shirt. They pause and the first guy says to the girl "yeah, would you mind if my friend joined us?"

But it's just how I would do it. It's good nonetheless.
 
Thanks for all the comments. As far as the audio goes, there is actually a line in the hallway that didn't turn out that says "Hold on a second, I have to use the bathroom. My room is right in there," so I might re-record all of the audio bits and dub over. I noticed the gear shadow too, but not until post. I tried my best with the lighting, but I suck when it comes to that. We had 2 omni lights with some filters over them to get the red/blue color going (tried to make it feel like a party). As far as the acting, the guy had a girlfriend, so we couldn't go that far with it. It was in my initial script as well as different shots.

I'm making 2 more of these with the same basic idea, just different settings and events, as well as different STDs...

I think i'll rework this one and repost it asap.
