Heroes...

Second episode proves one thing about this show... if you missed the first episode, heck, even ONE episode from now on, you're lost. Why can't they take a look at one of the many other shows that could reel you in even if you just started watching it during the later seasons, like Carnivale, Sopranos, 24, CSI, or Law and Order?

I think one of the big flaws is that they started out with too many characters, or heck, take a break on one character for an episode and dedicate a little more to one of the other stories just to make it clear. The cop was just here and then he was gone, what the heck?

*SPOILER*-lite

The best part of the second episode was the twist at the end with the Japanese guy.

After the show I read a 3 page treatment I wrote a while back with a similar idea. I think that most people have wished or dreamt about having some kind of super power. Which makes a show or movie about heroes gaining/learning or coming to terms with their powers appealing.

When I heard about this show I thought the same thing... another of my ideas done by somebody else... but then I realized that this stuff is probably daydream fodder for 90% of us.

I've been mentally wrapped in an idea that's a few clicks off of this one for years now... a few members know my outline for the story... but it would take a pretty serious budget to pull it off... even at the indi level.

The one obvious point that I'll say in making these things interesting is that good hero stories involve vulnerability and failure... weakness is poor writing... vulnerability is good writing (IMO)... because a weakness is a known and understood factor by all parties including the audience... but vulnerability is the wild card where everyone knows failure is possible but you have to watch to see what happens.

Kryptonite tells us Superman will lose his powers.
Snakes tell us that Indi will have to push through fear.
I'll take option 2 for better writing.

Yes! Ali Larter's character is so dumb! What power do you have? Ninja-fighting mirror reflection power? Man is that dumb.

*spoiler*

But the japanese guy is awesome and a nuclear blast blowing up at the end is intriguing enough so that I will watch the third episode. Seriously though, the writing on this show is pretty second-rate.

Well, thats what is so intriguing to me at this point. We don't KNOW what her powers are. I'll admit, they better tell us soon or it will get ridiculous. But at this point, I'm interested.

Oh, and shes hot.

Ali Larter's bastard child is more interesting to me, then she is.

Oh and everytime I saw the "bad guy" talk to his daughter, he looked like he was thinking naughty thoughts about her. It made me laugh.

i've only seen epsiode 1 but i liked the scenes in that took place in japan.
theer were some corny awkward moments throughout the show but i won't judge it yet after seeing only one episode. it still has some potential

How Ali Larter's character's power will unfold during the story should be interesting to see.

first season probably has something to do with how they all will meet up and prevent the blasts from happening.

We wont know it in the third show, still have to develop some more characters...

I really tried to watch it last night. I waited and waited... and when it finally came on, it wasn't interesting enough to take me away from solitare. But the Japanese guy was funny! I'd watch it again just for his character.

I want to know if the cheerleader has any other wardrobe other than her
cheerleading outfit?

I missed it last week but am watching it now. So far, its a pretty good show but its taking its sweet time making its point...

Episode 3 was a lot better than episodes 1 and 2. The show is starting to get its bearings. Still, it has some really bad writing. When Ali Larter is burying the two dead men from her trunk, her son conveiniently sleeps during the whole thing. That is just lazy lazy writing.

Lost is still the king of lazy writing.
