Heroes - crank the camera?

I have a few scenes where my Actress moves very fast like Daphine in the TV show Heroes or Twilight.

The question is I wonder if I should just film it in standard 24pn mode and do the fast movement in editing or should I crank the camera down to 3fps giving myself a head start? Is cranking it down to low (fps) hurt the camera any?

Thanks

Probably better to do that sort of thing in post, depending on how you want to start it (ramping?) and what else is moving in the frame at the time which would look wrong if you changed the frame rate.

I'm with you on the ramping, but how would doing it in post not affect other moving items in the frame?

Gotcha...thanks. Any advice on what program to use for that with final cut ?

That's an after effects job.

I'd record a "clean plate" of the shot without your actor. Then, I'd record your actor (without moving the camera). Then composite in AE using masks and the like.
