Good work Lads... Love the addition of QOTSA on the workout clip.

Keep it up, I think you could get the attention of Baby Cow if you play this out...

I wanna see episode one in full!

*Great characters
*Great sound! (how'd you do that outside in "The Streets"? Was it dubbed?)
*Nice Flash site

Only thing I think you need to push this over the top is a few crane shots, and you really should dolly all the walking scenes, IMHO. Other than those two items, I think you're so ready for prime time. I can hardly wait for the Beeb DVD!

Aland

Aland thanks man!
No money for dolly/crane otherwise they would defo be in.
'The streets' me camera-sound, no dub. Forgot the widget to connect mic to the top of camera (doh! Preparation, preparation, where's the widget? ) had to
Gaffer on with toilet paper (hehe) my new grip must! Also because Moz was wearing just underpants in broad-daylight, I could only do two takes. First one got drops of rain on lens!
Plus me walking backwards, juggling nonstick toilet paper mic grip, filming a grown man in his grundies. Well it turned out nice!
P.s. I like shooting into the light :-> makes things more interesting.

Hands down the most well written, if not also the most well acted work I've yet seen on this site...You guys could definitely give Simon Pegg and the Spaced boys a run for their money, IMHO. So well done I think, that the fact that it being shot on a dvx, let alone dv at all, is completely forgotten, keep up the good work.

P.S., best line so far, "I'm sick of this place- morning!" LOL

Wow! I'm Amazed By This!!

Hello people, I play Daz in this project. please give us as much constructive comments as we wish to persue this till it gets aired !!! my favorite quote from the script is " She lost her hip in world war 1 with a bayonette, it was a bayonette that fired" visit the site http://www.heroes4hire.co.uk

can you please make a direct link instead of a treasure hunt?
i'm retarded and can't find it.

I think the best thing going for you is the fast pace witty dialog... like the accent too. You need a steadicam of sorts. The hand held isn't doing it for me. Another angle other than the 3 foot tall midget looking up would have been nice too. The quality of a piece goes way down in my book if it's one angle that jerks around making me nauseous. It worked for Blair Witch, but not here. The Dialog is very funny and that alone kept me engaged till the end.

At last someone for the DVX void comments. Ta 'Honest Kev' do you sell cars?????
The 3 foot tall midget is my best mate I'm afraid as I'm crewing/ directing and in-front of the camera most of the time ,(money!), so my midget and my almost steady-cam hand is all I've got. It has been a massive frustration not being behind the camera although a huge learning-curve.
But my dialog/ story keeps you gripped...Yippeee...So I got something right eh!! hehe
J.P.

Those are hilarious dude! I agree with the guy that the quick/witty dialogue helps. Also, being American I think the English accents make it even funnier...weird but true! :-D

I didn't think the camera work/composition was that bad. I agree some type of homemade steadycam rig would probably help on the "New Streets" clip, but I like the way the shot works otherwise....especially the gradual reveal of the guy in the...uhm....black...ok, I need therapy now.

I think maybe slightly different sound effects would help on the bit where he talks about the "mechanic". I got the correlation from the sounds that are there but maybe just the sound of a wrench being dropped and the sound of one of those pneumatic drills like they use on the race cars...(can you tell I work on cars a lot!?) :-)

Overall though I think you have something very good here! Is this all going to be put together into one long film or is it all just going to be seperate little scenes that are related?

Keep it up.

I forgot to say I also have a 2-foot midget dealing with low interesting shots, better give him a kick up the arse....Ralph!
I'm trying to sell as a pilot episode for T.V. but we are in talks about a game or re-shooting into a film.
Thanks.

Hey J.P.,

Keep in mind also I only watched one short clip. I hear ya about the $ash flow. I am so picky myself I would like to be the camera man, director, producer, lighting guy, grip, DP, editor..etc. I think the hardest part about making any film is the trust and collaboration that has to happen with your cast and crew in order to create a master piece. I will soon post a Music Video I did with just a hand held DVX, so then you'll get your chance to give me some feedback.

Good Luck with the pilot -Kevin
