I gotta give her props for not giving up, especially with all the back-lash that she got from 'friday,' that being said, whomever wrote the lyrics for this song, should be fired.
 
This whole rebecca black thing fascinates me how millions of sane everyday people can turn into lynch mobs directed at a 14 year old girl
like in her first video. With 150million some views the first time around she gets better management and announces the release of a new song.
People are drooling for it to come out. Why?
So they can feed her to the dogs a 2nd time around.
20,000 comments in 2 hours or less so far, 99% of them ripping her apart.

Ahhh to be a part of the world we live in.

Agreed. More power to her. And IMO as this kind of music stinks up my ears - how is this worse than many other current releases? Its kiddie music, it has a market, she's going to make millions and I hope she laughs at all those that trolled on her.

I love jealousy.

I dont know but i feel sorry for her after hearing lyrics.She probably wrote it herself.She should ask parents to help her or something.

I know she hit her first million dollars for "friday" somewhere between 18-35 million views(I forget)
via, ad's and more importantly iTunes downloads. That video went on to over 160 million views on youtube, not sure how many iTunes downloads.

I think she's going to do just fine. This thing right now is probably over 100k views in 3-4 hours.
It will be interesting to see where the song lands on iTunes after its released tomorrow.



edit: looking it up since I haven't seen it since march but the article I found about her sales say the original numbers made public
were incorrect so that "first million dollar" comment I made might not have happened till much later in the game.

so who knows the truth.

My God... Pookie has uncovered the deep, dark secret here... CHARLIE SHEEN IS WRITING REBECCA BLACK'S SONGS! I mean, there can't possibly be two writers that bad on the face of the planet, can there?
 
I never listen to this kind of music but I was actually able to sit through that whole video. For what it is, it's tolerable (100x better than "Friday").

There are worse styles of music out there. At least she's singing a melody over a standard chord progression. But I thought I saw a guitar.....
 
As a youtube partner, she's isn't making virtual dollars she's phucking making bank! The more people are hating the more she's cashing in and donating to Japan and other organizations. I don't even do that nor do 95% of her haters. So props to her! I wish I was ranking in those kind of numbers.

You know she's not making all that much, relatively speaking. I'll wager most of the Friday loot went right into Ark Music's bank account.

I wasn't saying she's currently making a lot of money (who knows? Though, she apparently has made enough to self-produce that new video) -- I said that the torrent of hate makes her bankable. A competent manager/agent can parlay that into bucks.

Absolutely If bucks can be made, then she should go for it. I'm not entertained by what she does, but that doesn't mean I have the time to spend thinking about it. Plenty of s**t out there in the marketplace with or without her.

I don't think YT partnering is anything compared to what she probably gets appearing on talk shows/late night, etc. And it kind of reminds me of when Chris Rock commented on the Spice Girls -- "Someone's buying this s&%$"


It's certainly possible that for every 3 detractors she has a person supporting her. So for every 400,000 haters she could have 100,000 kids buying her downloads. Her presence on Facebook alone is pretty daunting.

Yes, hopefully any money she is earning right now is being invested, at least a portion of it. She'll be gone in the blink of an eye.
