Here Is A Question 4 U

Whenever I change the Scene files settings a lot, the camera works fine and has a good picture, but then goes dark like it has the neutral density filter on it. If I turn the camera off and then back on, it will get bright again. Am I supposed to change the Scene files settings ONLY with the camera on pause or off or something? I have changed it with the camera recording. Is this a no-no? I couldn't find these answers in either the manual or Barry's book.

Thanks in Advance.

I don't know what could account for the behavior you're describing. You can most definitely change the scene files while the camera's on, and you can change them while the camera's recording -- every setting (other than frame rate) will update even in the middle of a recording.

The only scene file setting that could affect your brightness level would be A.Iris -- are you using autoiris, and in one scene file you have it set to -4 and in the other you don't?

Changing scene file settings while the camera is running is not a problem. If your camera is behaving differently, there's something else at work -- either your ND filter's gone wacky, or it needs a trip to the service department, or something...

Thanks Barry

Thanks Barry

Thanks, Barry!!

The camera has only about 10 hours on it. I have it set to the factory defaults. It is strange behavior, that is for sure. I haven't used it enough to know why this happens. It seems it mostly starts when I change the scene file settings.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have experienced a flicker in the viewfinder/LCD when I change from Scene 5 to 4 or 3 to 4. Is this normal behavior for the camera?
