Hi all,
I am a long time DVXuser member as mostly an observer rather than a poster. Although, I am mostly a lurker this community has provided invaluable insight on the filmmaking world and has continually inspired me as both a filmmaker and a person. I am currently in my final year of film school and my thesis film entitled "Her Shadow" needs some help! The film follows 17 year old Maura as she is forced to live with her estranged aunt after her father is sent to prison for embezzlement. She enters the household with negative preconceived notions, which quickly dissipate after she uncovers the truth behind her family's estrangement.
We've successfully funded the film from pre-production, production to post but we've run low on funds and are struggling to bring it to the distribution stage. As up and comers being able to show our project on the film festival circuit would really help us get our foot in the door. I really believe that "Her Shadow" is a strong piece with equal parts story and technicality.
Every thing I have learned in film school and outside of film school (i.e this forum) has amounted to this one film and I am very proud of it. For those how are interested / skeptical here is a short trailer of the film
