This was our entry into the NZ 48HOURS Film Competition this year. Shot on an HVX, with the stock lens.

Basically, we had to write, shoot and edit a short film in a randomly drawn genre (Monster), incorporating the following compulsary elements...
Character: Jerry Reed, a hypochondriac
Prop: A rope
Dialogue: "What do you call that?"

...all within 48 hours, of course.

We got into the regional finals, and ended up winning the National Best Cinematography award! And the prize for that was an HVX! With two 16gig P2 cards!

Pretty good though.. Creepy too..

vunderful.
I love how your story plots excite your curiosity and wonder. I am impressed. I thought the spit screen entrancing. How did you calculate the timing? or was it improved?

love the accents. stick with the short hair. short is better.

Here's our entry for this year's comp: A Brush With Death - HD

This was the first year we shot in HD with our HVX. Relatively painless. Except for when I accidentally formatted a card losing a whole morning's worth of work. Ended up being disqualified due to an outputting error (the tape we handed in had no sound). Oh well.
