If anyone out there can help me, please share your geniousness!

I shot some footage in 24P(adv) mode...F6.....along with a "squeeze" widescreen mode.
I brought it into Final Cut Pro and started to edit. I came apon a scene which i wanted to set at about 25% speed (slow it down), but when i did the final render....it is not smooth.....slow, and choppy like. I have tried a project with and without anamorphic, and either way...i still get that choppiness.

Can anyone tell me, what settings i should set my project at to capture and work with 24P(adv)? And any suggestions or reason for a choppy slo mo?

I hope i explained in detail enough, and if not, i will be happy to give up any info i can to get this finished.

Thanks so much in advance!!

It is difficult to get smooth slow-mo from 24p material. 50% might be acceptable, but 25% probably looks like a slide show. Have you tried this in the past?

With normal 60i video you can do more because there are 60 time samples per second to work with, more intermediate steps. If you want nice slow-mo from 24p, you need something like Twixtor.

Thank you so much for that tip...i will look into that program.
Only thing that bites is, i cannot re-shoot the footage......it was a one time event....:crybaby:

Yeh, well, most NLE's will do frame blending, which is probably what you are seeing. Twixtor will actually interpolate new frames, so it will be much smoother. Can you get away with just a 50% slow-mo? That usually looks acceptable.
