I just got the Panasonic wide conversion lens.( ag-lw7208g)
My question is this , on the manual is says "when using this lens do not use the (OIS function or the auto focus)"
Why?
What happens if I do?
So do I need to always use a tripod?

I am shooting adult content, in a controlled lite stage.

Re: help!!!!!!!!

Alexx, there is a good reason for turning off the OIS when shooting anamorphic. The ana adapter bends the light in a certain way on a certain axis. The OIS unit doesn't "know" this and thus some image distortion may occur. Comprehensive info on this issue can be found in Barry Greens Anamorphic adapter guide. A solution for you could be to shoot handheld in squeeze mode.

I knew people would use the camera for this. Wow!

Be sure you post some pics when you're done. For technical purposes of course... ;D

Re: help!!!!!!!!

also dont worry about shutting it off.. with the wide angle adapter at full wide it is very easy to get stable footage even running around.

Yes, I wonder how it looks technically! :)

Re: help!!!!!!!!

Do you mean an anamorphic adapter or a wide angle lens. There is a distinct difference between the two.
The anamorphic lens is called a LA7200. As Jarred said, you can shoot hand held with the anamorphic or the wide angle lens with the OIS turned off. I do it all the time. Just make certain that your pretty much "wide open". The anamorphic lens is really wide. Like 133%.

If you do own the Anamorphic Adapter, be sure to order Barry's book It's a must!!!!

Re: help!!!!!!!!

I must say I'm a little surprised, nobody's asked why they need the wide angle lens?
