Hello! there are people who sell the IR filter in front of the matrix ? or the entire optical unit ? desirable Nikon mount.

to elaborate:

There is no one who sells the IR filter. I have called Sony parts where I have been successful finding other F35 parts. The IR filter only exists on a CCD Unit.

Can one be made? I think so but I do not know enough. I thought about spending some time contacting custom filter makers. I also wonder if replacing it with a clear filter would increase the low light levels of the camera. Although I'm sure IR filtration is necessary for natural looking colors and edges.
The F23-F35 upgrade kit was a F35 front plate/optical block. This is your best bet of finding new ccd unit. I bought one of these from another F35 user on the forum.

The IR filter is very easy to switch, 2 tiny screws, but of course you don't want to let any, and i mean any particles behind this glass. I had a friend who fixes hard drives do it in a clean environment.

In truth, this glass shouldn't be scratched. It is the most protected part of the camera, most F35's have a history of being handled by professionals (at least that's my hope). I was foolish and didn't notice the scratches for a few month of owning my F35, if you notice it right away return it to the seller.

There is another F35 owner who has made most of our Nikon plates, look back there are a few threads on Nikon mount. I do not know if he is still doing it, the work was CNC and very professional. It is also reversible which is a big plus. I know there is at least one Canon F35 plate out there too but this is a more complicated process.

I don't always agree with Vince... but titles really ought to be descriptive.... helps those of us browsing...

There's an optical block on eBay. Unlikely to get one that's been Nikon modded unless you buy a whole camera that's Nikon mount, and even those are hard to come by.

I have my CNC guy working on converting a 2nd plate for me right now. I will post a photo once he is done, but if all works out I would be willing to make a few more for anyone interested.
