Am a newbie Everything was going fine with the hack until i took the suggestions of one of the members with the settings and his exact words were ....

'i've now achieve stable 24pn, at 54 / 62 / 96 GOP=2 and Preset Bitrate of 540 (default was 234)'

so i followed...ever since that time even if i revert back to the original settings of gh1__132.bin there are distortions and image crackings on my clips.I use the FD lens and sometimes leica m lens.the 720p is ok but the 1080 avchd seems to be where the damage clips are concentrated.

my questions are:
can the test patches damage the camera?
how do I reset all if not affected. I did the reset pixel, reset settings etc. but no good.
But theworst of my nightmare had yet to come as I tried it on my second GH1...which was ok at first.. but when i placed the deadly settings to prove that it cannot be the settings it occured the same way......now I i hope I dont have 2 damaged cameras?

what do I have to do?

please advise..thanks

got everything restored...noticed that it is carried over to a new settings...need to reset all to go to normalcy.....no gop,no preset no sensor etc...was worried for a while...

Yep, I noticed the same thing when I applied the GF1 "manual" patch. Saved a custom 2-1 setup and it still had the manual settings enabled even after I re installed the stock FW.

Moral of the story: Re-save your custom settings every time you make FW changes.

what card are you using?

am using class 6 transcend on the first cam and class 10 on the second... both were acting up after the high settings...realy bad images..even after you changed to a new settings....something seems to imbed itself way after you disengaged the settings...what is it?

am working my way back again....watching what went wrong ...am now in a 40 50 70 without presets or gop size...seems holding...but colors seems pale.

i gotta say those settings you originally used looked quite extreme, from 54 to 96 wow. lets hope your side effects aren't permanent. Guess its a reminder that as with everything you can only push the envelope so far before something may give.

how did you restore back even when you reverted to original v1.32? or did you just untick everything the reapplied the patch?

on the contrary , I ticked the basic quality mpeg numbers from 1.32 and the numbers of AVCHD. But I think something gave, the panning ...somethings not right anymore ...and the colors seems paler.....hmmmm maybe you are right, caution to all, dont go beyond whats good for you.
