Help with settings to achieve a look...

Hello all,

I am helping a friend out with a spoof the Justin timberlakes "cry me a river video" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDiiCUEfTX4 ). I am trying to achieve a similar look to the color, grain, ect. I have done a few tests and am not really even coming close.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Ray

Hmmm... watched a bit of the video (muted, of course) and it definitely has a nice look to it. Personally, if I was trying to achieve that, I'd shoot flat and experiment in post. That's just me, though.

"looks" are so rarely achieved though settings. That video's look had much more to do with lighting, production design and a shitload of post (plus the extra latitude and color information of film).

Technically I guess I could turn my color, sharpness, and masterped as far down as they'll go, but rcbrown is right, shoot clean and get the look in post.
