Hi,
I've got two work machines, a PC and a Mac, both with CS5 installed, and I'm working with native AVCHD clips from an HMC150. The Windows 7 Dell has an Intel quad core processor (9650), RAID 0 drive configuration, 8GB memory and an ATI Radeon HD 3870 graphics card. Yet editing in the PC timeline is quite sluggish compared to editing in the Mac timeline (even though the Mac is an older, first generation Mac Pro with no RAID, less memory, etc). So I'm thinking I must have something configured poorly on the PC. It's not as if I can't edit native AVCHD on the windows machine, it's just that scrolling through the timeline can be very jumpy and unresponsive, and I can't preview any clips with effects/or transitions without rendering. Anyone have some tips on how I might improve performance. I'm fairly new to the Windows world and to CS5.
