Hello,

I normally use the Sony FX1 HDV camera but for this special music video I decided to try the DVX100A to shoot 24 frames for that "cinema look".
After shooting some test shots with DVX100A, I am thinking that the Sony FX1 delivers way better pictures, even in Standard def. I am starting to stress.

But my question is, if I want to have my video end up on NTSC 29.9 fps DVD but still resemble 24fps, how should I shoot the video?

I'm editing in Sony Vegas 7.

Do I shoot in 24p and edit and capture in Vegas as 24p project file (how is captured AVI files 24p?)

Do I shoot in 60i and import the footage into Vegas as a 24p project so it splits the frames?

I want to create a 24 fps video but ultimately it is going to end up on TV and youtube, I have been playing around with different methods and I am getting ugly glitches after the pulldown.

I know this can be done because several of my classmates last year screened projects on DVD that had that 24fps cinema look.
Please help, I am shooting this weekend and need an answer ASAP.

you can shoot in 60i and edit it on a 24p timeline.
But if you want it to "resemble" 24p you can shoot in 60i and use dvfilm or magic bullet
to get a cinematic look .
I recommend dvfilm because its fast and easy , but for best results use magic bullet but its very very very very slow especially with big projects .
good luck:)

If you are going to be editing 24p on vegas , shoot 24p adv.
You shoot 24p adv when you are editing 24p in vegas.
You can look it up in the help and it tells you to shoot in 24p adv.
when you plan on editing non-linear 24p in vegas
