Help with DVX Repairs

I am trying to have my DVX100A serviced and I can't seem to get in touch with Panasonic. I live in Louisiana and there aren't any repair shops around that can clean and repair a DVX. I need the heads cleaned and a couple of general maintenance repairs done. When I try the 1-800 number on Panasonic's site I get redirected to different smaller companies that "don't fix cameras anymore." I've email Panasonic three times with no response. I need this camera soon and really need to find somewhere that does this kind of work soon. If anyone has information regarding who to mail it to or who to call please let me know. Also, if anyone has had this kind of work done recently I'd like to know a ballpark price for cleaning and small repairs(assuming nothing major is wrong with my camera)

Thanks,
Sean

Yeah I was thinking about sending mine in for a head cleaning as well. I don't like using my tape cleaner and I don't want to take the chances of doing it myself so I was wondering the ball park price on a cleaning, too.

I haven't tried that number I will call them and let you know. Did you call them for the same reasons? In other words did you need yours cleaned and repaired as well? If so, how long did it take and what was the cost. Mine isn't under any kidn of warranty so it would be strictly out of pocket.

I called that number and I spoke to someone who gave me an address for Panasonics Repair Center. I mailed it off yesterday. They said it should take 5-7 to clean and repait. I'll update on how it turns out.

Just an update, I have received an emailed estimate from the company and they want $851.00 to clean the heads. That includes parts/labor/and shipping. If you decline the estimate you are still forced to pay $175.00 processing fee which includes shipping. The $851 seems a little ridiculous to me so I will be forking up the $175. Just wanted to let whoever was thinking about repairing their DVX through this company about how much it would cost them. Not knocking the company just a forewarning. Thanks for the help.

$851 for a cleaning, or a full head replacement? A cleaning shouldn't cost you anywhere near that much.

That's gotta be for replacing the heads. BTW, the number I posted is to panasonic broadcast repair.
