Help with DV Rack and similar tools

Can someone please point me a source of information about how to use tools like dv-rack?

something that is written in a very simple & beginner like way?

this tool and others like it look great but i don't have a clue how to truly use it.

Download the trial version and use the help files.  They're actually pretty decent, and the trial version is 100% functional for 14 days (I think). It's a bit to absorb though... if you don't know how to use waveform monitors and vectorscopes, I'm not sure if the included help files will be enough. You can try searching videouniversity.com, I think they have some articles in general on waveform and vectorscopes.

i have to drop my dvx off at the shop. the firwire port died...

the tech told me that he sees a LOT of repair jobs on higher end panasonics from hot-swapping firewire cables...

i have got to get one of these firewire cables that claims to isolate from that problem, especially if i'm going to play with dv rack.
