Most of the cameras with 3.5mm inputs I've encountered are microphone level. Even with the aforementioned XLR> 1/8" adaptor cable and if the cam can support a line level input, it would be -10dB, so feeding a nominal +4dB signal could overdrive the analog input stage regardless of lower record volume settings.

Yes, PeopleCanFly might have to add an XLR Inline Pad to bring the output level down to something his camera can handle. I normally use an older version of this to feed balanced audio signals to 3.5mm camera inputs, but it's way out of PeopleCanFly's budget range.

Actually, I do own a JuicedLink RM222 already. That should handle a line in from an XLR cable. I suppose then I could split the output out of that into a 3.5mm splitter to go to each camera. According to the manual, it has ~40hr battery life (no phantom, 1 XLR input active, Alkaline battery).

The JuicedLink RM222 should work.
XLR out from your main mixer into the RN222 XLR input switched to Line
1/8" out of the RM222 to your camera.

Just wanted to chime in an thank everyone again for the advice! Everything went well! :)

Sorry for not checking back! I was stuck recovering from my horrible, terrible, 1 hour jet lag. LOL Well, that plus a day job and editing hours of footage and I tend to forget to check up on the forums sometimes.

I'm pleased to hear it went well. Just out of curiosity, what did you use for a PA?
We picked up an Anchor Audio An-1000x off eBay at the last minute for about $100 shipped (After calling the seller to make sure it would arrive on time). It was plenty loud for providing microphone and laptop audio during the presentations.

Out of the many hours of talks, panel discussions, and workshops, I only had minor feedback issues on two occasions. I'm blaming it on the wireless mic we rented for randomly fluctuating in volume once in a blue moon.
