Help with Concert shoot

Hello
I am looking for some help with the DVX100A settings for a concert video shoot.
Ive shot a couple concerts with my cam and got decent results, but they were not great. Im looking for info on how to optimise the camera settings and improve the visual quality of the video.

Basically the shoot will be in a dark club, with the lighting situation being of a typical concert: lots of bright flashing lights, strobes, really saturated lights and spotlights on the band. Also there will probably be alot of bright red light on the band members, which usually causes the footage to look really jagged on the edges. I will be shooting 30p.

If anyone has tips or settings on how to make the footage look clear and bright enough while not blown out it would be greatly appreciated.

i have had this problem too. I found turning down the chroma level to -7 helps contoll the reds.... but thats about all you can do. also shoot Cinegamma D just to help control highlights, plus it will give you a touch more detail in the blacks.
