Help with capturing

I shot some test stuff on the DVX100a (F1) and tried to use my little GS12 to capture it (Vegas 6). This is the result.

As test i shot the same stuff with the GS12 and captured it

no problem.

When i place the tape back in the DX100a and look through the viewfinder the images shot on the GS12 are all chopped up and visa versa. Can anyone help me? thanks!

Not totally clear on this.
GS12 and DVX100 recorded clips (on same tape) are both scrambled when played back on the DVX or DVX on GS12 is scrambled now and GS12 footage is now scrambled on dvx playback?

It could be there's a head alignment issue or the heads of either one coudl be dirty.
Personaly I try not to bounce back and forth between cameras/capture devices. At the cost of the tape I record what I need and then capture it.

Thanks you explaining my issue better, its exactly how you describe ;). Yeah i would never bounce back and forth, i was just trying to understand what happned when i capture the DVX100 recording in the GS12 it shows me the chopped images (and scrambled audio) I will clean heads on the old GS12 tonite.

Everything i bought was thru advise on this board, from camera till tripod and cheapo minidv. I thank you guys very much, im extremly happy with new my equipment! Just before i invest money into another deck i want to make sure its not something 'simple' i can solve. Does anyone uses the Panny GS12 and has no problems?! thanks

This really sounds like head alignment. It is extremely critical in the DV world and going from camera to camera I would expect a problem. I would strongly suggest capturing from the camera the footage was shot on.

To beat a dead horse, always use the same brand of tape in all your gear. Never reuse DV tape. Keep cameras and decks clean. That can take care of 90% of the problems most people shooting DV run into.

thank you for the advise. As suggested on this forum I won't use my DVX as deck, so i have to find another solution. ;)
