Help with AVID Express Pro HD!

I'm having trouble getting sound from AVID. I get sound when I go to the internet, (youtube etc...). I see can the audio meters jumping so i know audio is there but no sound comes through. I've even exported a small clip of video from a bin to the desktop to see if it was my media was the problem, but it played fine through Quicktime. I recently had to reset my Dell 8400 back to it's original settings. I lost everything. Now that I have dwonloaded the AVID back onto the computer, I get no sound. What to do.

What sound card do you have? Also, right click on My Computer, go to Properties, go to the Device Manager and see if there's and exclamation point by your sound card. Since you say you lost everything, you may be missing the audio driver.

There is no exclamation point anywhere. It's the sound card that came with the system (Dimension 8400).

Avid is very Hardware specific. It sound like your sound card is unsupported.

You can check the list of supported systems at Avid. There is also a good bit of information available on the Avid forum at Avid .com

It was working just last week before the power went out. I would think I would be in need of a new [audio] card, but i get audio from youtube, internet etc...

I fixed it. It was in "Settings" in the Sound Card Configuration menu. I checked the "Windows Mixer." Thanks for all the help guy's!
