Please Help me, I don't understand this at all???

I have big problems with AVC-Intra 100, when I select sequence AVC-Intra 720p 25p inside CS4 Premiere 4.2.1 and drag some clip onto the timeline it becomes red and all 4 sound tracks are completely empty of sound without any peak drew up. Then out of nowhere without any reason, some of it appears, some of the sound and then completely disappear again (randomly).:(

The video is also not playing without stuttering and without all frames intact (25frames/sec) more like 12frames/sec???

All this is the same when I try to render out a master, stuttering video and no sound.:(

When I look at the same files inside my HPX301 the files are playing just fine with perfect sound so it’s not the recorded files that are wrong.

System mode: 720-50p.
Rec Format: AVC-I 100 /25pn.

This computer is flying with big, big complex projects of 10 bits Cineform files so it’s not the computer that can’t handle it (this is with CS3 Premiere 3.2 on another disk thougt).

Now is CS5 better to handle the AVC-Intra codec then CS4?

My computer setup:
Processor: Intel i7920.
Motherboard: Asus P6T Deluxe V2.
Ram: Corsair 12GB 1600MHz.
C drive: Intel SSD G2 80GB with Windows Vista64 Ultimate.
Raid Card: Adaptec 3085.
Raid Disk: 4 x 1000GB in a raid 5 for video with Adaptec.
Graphic card: ATI/AMD 5870

Am I alone with using AVC-Intra with Premier CS4.2.1 out here, please does it work for you or not???
Please help me:-)

looks like Intra and Premiere are not compatible --- http://dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=163093&page=4

"Well, Premiere and Axio don't support AVC-Intra. It has nothing to do with a Dual Quad Core Xeon. If he ran EDIUS on that system he'd probably find he could get multiple streams of AVC-Intra running full-screen with no problems. You can't say that Intra is a pain to edit when the system you're using to compare it doesn't even have Intra support!"

It's supported from 4.2 but it's not working for me at least, thats why I need to know if it's working for other people???

Sorry Mikael, even I am a newbie. Actually I am considering purchasing the HPX 370 camera and even I have the CS4.

Probably a bit late...I've been editing Intra-AVC in CS4 since February, and I've had no issues (both AVC 50mb and 100mb). The only major difference between my setup and yours is that I use a nVidia Quadro card, not an ATI card. It could be as simple as that.

One issue I am having, since the 4.2.1 update, is that 4 channel audio is permanently mixed together (channels can not be isolated, even in the timeline) when using Premiere's Media Browser to import AVC footage (as opposed to using CTRL+I). I thought I was going insane (this was never an issue in 4.2), but at least one other person on Creative Cow has confirmed this bug. I'm upgrading to CS5 soon, and I'm hoping this has been fixed.

Regarding Pro-Res being a better method to edit Intra-AVC, I disagree. Since Premiere can handle I-AVC in real-time, there really is no point to transcode it. I-AVC is an intra-frame 10-Bit 4:2:2 codec, so I'm not sure how ProRes can be any better.

All I can tell you is I've used FCP with ProRes .. and Premiere with AVC .. and
FCP with ProRes is a lot snappier / more responsive. Plus, my Aja box does
ProRes in hardware .. so that helps a lot too.

I also had an issue with CS4.2.1 with 24P and AVCIntra-100 - all 4 audio tracks were imported from channel 1 - so all 4 were the same. I have CS5 now and will try to re-import the footage and see if the problem is corrected. My workaround in CS4 was to output the audio analog from the camera itself and was able to re-sync the audio (I only needed channel 2.) Unfortunately I won't be able to check this until after the long weekend.

We have been working, without issue, with AVC INTRA 100 in CS5 for a month now. I know that doesn't help the CS4 folks, but it is just spot-on in CS5.

OK, I just checked my AVC-intra100 24P project that i had trouble with in CS4 - and with CS5, all is well.... I have all four audio tracks now, not just track one repeated 3 more times.
