My fellow DVXUsers,
I am going crazy Googling & trying to remember what movie this came from. Here's the best description I can give:
Basically, we're in one scene and at one point we cut to a close up of the main character. We think we're in the same scene, but as the camera pulls back, we realize we're in the next scene. The color behind the character's head and the character's expression match the previous scene, so at first, the transition is invisible/hidden. Only upon the camera's pull back do we realize we're in the next scene.
Incredibly vague, I know. For awhile I was thinking the 2nd scene took place in an airplane. So the color of the seat behind the actor's head matches the previous scene. Thought it might have been Fight Club but could not find it there. I'm 90% sure it's a film I've listened to the commentary on, as I recall the director mentioning "how set design can be used to hide a cut between scenes, without the need for expensive visual effects."
If someone can figure this out, a Paypaled beer is in order!
